Paul Thorton

The Management Change and Growth course will be lead by Paul Thornton. Paul is the founder director of Verulam Associates Ltd a UK based consultancy company that specializes in institutional development, governance and policy change. Following a career in public sector management and poverty policy analysis in the UK Paul focused on support to organisations seeking to address poverty through his consultancy practice. He is now a highly experienced senior governance and organisational development consultant who has worked for clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in Europe, South Asia, South East Asia, the Middle East, and East and Southern Africa over the last fifteen years.

Verulam Associates has sister companies in India and Bangladesh and works for a wide range of clients including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Commission, the UK DFID, Sida, the Netherlands Govt., Norwegian Govt. and UN agencies together with directly contracted work for Governments in India, Bangladesh, Yemen, Lao Republic, and Nepal; and major national and international NGOs.

Paul’s own portfolio combines support for organisational change and organisational learning interests for development agencies Governments and NGOs with governance and policy implementation consultancy and evalaution of major bilateral programmes. Paul holds a bachelors degree in mathematics and psychology and a masters in management development and social responsibility together with post graduate diplomas in social work and clinical organisational psychology.
