Chris Malwadde
Mr. Malwadde has over 25 years of working experience of which 12 years are in the field of microfinance. He has worked with donor funded projects that support and build capacities of microfinance institutions, apex organizations, microfinance networks and government microfinance policy makers.

As an MBA graduate and as a result of his work experience, he has expertise in MFI transformations, carrying out micro finance institutional assessments, organizational designs, accounting information systems development and related internal controls and procedures, auditing, financial management, new product development as well as performance monitoring. He is quite abreast with the international current sound microfinance practices and has provided technical assistance to the MFIs in the areas of governance (including board issues), strategic management, transformations, complying with regulations, financial management, financial services delivery, new product development, MIS, performance measurement and monitoring, human resources development, funding strategies and stakeholder relationships all of which would enable MFIs reach sustainability.

In addition he is a certified CGAP trainer, having undergone a series of Training of Trainers (TOT) courses, in the areas of Business Planning (using the CGAP Microfin model), Accounting, Financial analysis, Delinquency Management and Interest Rate setting for Micro Finance Institutions. He has helped several MFIs develop their strategic and operational plans that can drive them to sustainability, carried out training needs, and conducted training and on-site technical assistance, carried out consulting assignments in MFIs and microfinance networks in countries such as: Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzania, The Gambia, Egypt, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sierra Leone and West Bank. Further, he has excellent communication, analytical and computer – Word, Excel and PowerPoint - skills.
